How to make Mutton Jalfrezi Recipe

INGREDIENTS TO MAKE MUTTON JALFRAZI RECIPE:-

  • Mutton= 1 kg (cut into cubes)
  • Red Chilli Powder= 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder= ½ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder= ½ tsp
  • Coriander Powder= ½ tsp
  • Onions= 2 large (cut into cubes)
  • Capsicums= 2 (cut into cubes)
  • Tomatoes= 2 (cut into cubes)
  • Green Chillies= 4 (chopped)
  • Coriander Leaves= 3 tbsp (finely cut)
  • Yogurt= 1 Cup
  • Worcestershire Sauce= 2 tbsp (optional)
  • Cardamoms= 2-3
  • Cloves= 2-3
  • Cinnamon Sticks= 1
  • Garlic= 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Ginger= 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Salt= to taste
  • Water= 1/3 Cup
  • Oil= 4 tbsp

 

 

PREPARATION FOR MUTTON JALFRAZI RECIPE:-

Time required to make Mutton Jalfrazi Recipe= 50-60 minutes

Serves= 6-7 people

 

METHOD TO MAKE MUTTON JALFRAZI:-

To make Mutton Jalfrazi recipe, firstly take one Cardamom, one Clove and a Cinnamon stick. Grind them together to get the powdery form.

Secondly to make Mutton Jalfrazi, take this grounded powder and mix with Salt. Apply this on the Mutton and let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

Now cook this Mutton in a pressure cooker till it becomes soft. Drain the excess and set aside.

Take a wok or a deep pan. Heat 1 tbsp of oil on a medium flame. Fry chopped Green Chillies, half of sliced Onions, chopped Ginger and Garlic. Remove these out when the Onions turn translucent.

Now blend together these half Onions, Green Chillies, Ginger, Garlic and Yogurt, remaining Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Cloves together in a blender to form a smooth paste to make the gravy for the Mutton Jalfrazi.

Heat 2 tbsp of Oil in the wok or the deep pan on a medium flame. Now fry the remaining Onions, Capsicums and Tomato cubes. Fry for3-4 minutes. Then keep aside.

Then take a separate wok or a deep pan and add in 1 tbsp of Oil. Then add the blended paste. Cook for 3-4 minutes while stirring occasionally.

Then add Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder and Salt. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes before adding Worcestershire Sauce. Stir.

Now add the cooked Mutton meat and mix well with the gravy. Add a little water nearly 1/3 cup if the Mutton Jalfrazi gravy has dried. Cook for 5-6 minutes more.

Lastly to make Mutton Jalfrazi, add the fried vegetables (fried Onions, Tomatoes and Capsicums) in the wok and turn off the heat so the vegetables stays crispy and do not become soft.

Garnish this Mutton Jalfrazi with chopped Coriander leaves and serve this Mutton Jalfrezi hot.

Serve Mutton Jalfrazi with boiled Rice.
