What is belief or emaan

BELIEF (EMAAN)
to trust something / on something completely
have blind faith on something
to trust without any doubts

BELIEF ON 6 THINGS:-

  • on ALLAH
  • on PROPHETS & MESSENGERS
  • on HIS ANGELS
  • on BOOKS REVEALED
  • on THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT
  • on Divine Decree
  • BELIEF IN ALLAH

Allah is the Creator of every things. He is unique in every way and none has the right to be worshipped except Him. One should have a complete faith and trust on ALLAH’S existance.

  • BELIEF IN HIS ANGELS

The angels are creations of Allah. Allah created them from light. They do not possess free will. They always do as they are commanded.

  • BELIEF IN HIS BOOKS

A Muslim must believe in all of the scriptures/ HOLY BOOKS sent by Allah to His different Messengers. A Muslim must believe in every HOLY BOOK mentioned by Allah in the Qur’ân. Allah sent them and they are the actual Word of Allah.
1. Torah was revealed to Moses (peace be upon him).
2. Psalms was revealed to David (peace be upon him).
3. Gospel was revealed to Jesus (peace be upon him).
4. The Qur’ân was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him)
These all HOLY BOOKS were revealed before the HOLY Qur’ân was revealed. According to the Qur’ân, people have changed the scriptures of THE HOLY BOOKS for their own worldly ends. What remains of them is a mixture of truth and falsehood. Only QURAN is the authentic HOLY BOOK.

  • BELIEF IN HIS PROPHETS AND MESSENGERS

The Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) were people who received revelation from Allah. They were sent to humanity to teach people the truth and to guide them to the path of salvation. None of the Prophets and Messengers share in any part of Allah’s divinity. All PROPHETS & MESSENGERS were humans. It is forbidden for a Muslim to worship them in any way. A Muslim should never invoke them, make supplications to them, or seek Allah’s mercy and forgiveness through them. All such things are acts of polytheism, and anyone who practices such things is outside of the fold of Islam.
All of the Prophets and Messengers came with the religion of Islam. They were all Muslims. The people who truly followed these Prophets when they came were also Muslims. All the Prophets and Messengers called humanity to worship Allah alone without ascribing to Him any partner, and they all submitted completely to the will of Allah, which is Islam.
Muslims love and respect all of the Prophets and Messengers of Allah. If a person rejects or dislikes any one of them, that person is not a Muslim.
Muhammad (peace be upon him) has the distinction of being Allah’s final Messenger to humanity. No Prophet or Messenger will come after him. For this reason, he is known as the Seal of the Prophets. This means that the manifestation of the Divine Law that is embodied in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is for all of humanity until the Day of Judgment. It is obligatory on all people to believe in him and all the Prophets and Messengers who came before him.

  • BELIEF IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT

It is obligatory on all Muslims to believe in the Day of Judgment i.e YOUM UL AKHIRAH. This is the day when each and every individual will stand before Allah and be questioned about his/ her deeds. The reward for success on this day is Paradise. The penalty for failure is Hell. Allah will not be unjust to any of His Creation. When a person dies in this world, he will be awaken on the DAY OF JUDGEMENT and will be questioned about his deeds and will be rewarded for it.

  • BELIEF IN DIVINE DECREE

Allah has Absolute Sovereignty over His Creation. Everything that exists within it and every event that occurs is a direct result of His creating it. Nothing happens in Creation except by His Power and as He wills.
Allah has complete control of all that happens, both good and evil and He has full knowledge of it all
Muslims believe in Divine Predestination, but this belief in Divine Predestination does not mean that human beings do not have freewill. Rather, Muslims believe that Allah has given human beings freewill. This means that they can choose right or wrong and that they are responsible for their choices.
The belief in Divine Predestination includes belief in four things:
1) Allah knows everything. He knows what has happened and what will happen.
2) Allah has recorded all that has happened and all that will happen.
3) Whatever Allah wills to happen happens, and whatever He wills not to happen does not happen.
4) Allah is the Creator of everything.

WHAT DO WE NEED THROUGH BELIEF (emaan)?
Entry in Jannah (paradise)
Freedom from Hell (jahannam)

What we need, we’ll definitely will want to have it. what we need and what we want would be our goals. We can achieve this goal by only Allah’s will.

the question is:-
HOW CAN WE ACHIEVE ALLAH’S WILL?
= through TAQWA + GOOD DEEDS

For this we’ll need to attain KNOWLEDGE.
WHAT WILL KNOWLEDGE DO?
= make OUR BELIEFS
WHAT WILL BELIEF DO?
= make US PRACTICE
WHAT WILL PRACTICE DO?
= make OUR HABITS
